David Larsson is a Senior Industrial Designer with an MFA, born in Luleå, Sweden, in 1968. Now based in Stockholm, he began his education at the Art Center College of Design (ACCD) in Switzerland and completed his studies in product design at the Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden in 1995.

As an independent designer, David has collaborated with numerous international companies, including Electrolux, JCDecaux, Renault, GE, Dometic, Volvo, Husqvarna, Icehotel, Telia, and more. Alongside these collaborations, he continually nurtures his creative vision by developing his own products, architectural projects, and artistic endeavors, gradually moving into innovations that truly help people.

Since the autumn of 2020, David has served as a Senior Lecturer at Luleå University of Technology, contributing to the Master’s Program in Industrial Design Engineering. He remains closely connected to the latest design research and methods, sharing his knowledge and professional experience to inspire and guide emerging designers.

David’s portfolio encompasses limited editions of furniture, houses, bicycles, and lighting fixtures, reflecting his exceptional talent and versatility in design. His innovative work has earned multiple prestigious international awards, including the International Design Award (IDA) for his Streetbike design. An avid cyclist, he is especially passionate about projects related to cycling, which hold a special place in his product design practice.

In addition to industrial design, David has pursued painting since the early 2000s, working primarily in gouache and original acrylics. His artistic practice lies at the intersection of concrete art, hard-edge painting, and modernism. Through distinct color fields and sharp geometric forms, Larsson explores the interplay between surface, space, and balance. His process is guided by a pursuit of purity, simplicity, and compositional harmony, allowing color and form to carry the full expressive weight. The resulting paintings are both immediate and contemplative, where abstraction acquires a tangible, physical presence.
